Description

The Obsidian Current Dining Table is a one-of-a-kind composition built around the natural character of two carefully matched olive wood slabs, selected to create a balanced surface while preserving the individuality of their grain, movement and natural edges.

Between the slabs, semi-transparent crystalline black epoxy introduces depth and contrast through AEC WOOD ART’s distinctive “Ice Texture” technique. Rather than concealing the timber, the dark crystalline finish is designed to frame and emphasise the olive wood, creating a refined interaction between the organic warmth of the material and the cooler, sculptural quality of the epoxy.

The natural live edges remain visible throughout the composition, allowing the original form of the wood to define the transition between timber and resin. A high-gloss finish enhances the depth of the grain and the crystalline texture, giving the surface a rich, polished appearance while maintaining the table’s natural identity.

The piece is supported by the architectural DEEP ARCH base, finished in BRUSHED CHAMPAGNE GOLD. Its sculptural form introduces a clean architectural element beneath the tabletop, while the warmer metallic tone complements the olive wood and creates a subtle contrast with the black epoxy.

Measuring 250 × 110 cm, the table has been proportioned to create a substantial presence within a dining space without compromising visual balance. The combination of matched olive wood, crystalline black epoxy and architectural metalwork results in a bespoke dining table designed to function as both a refined centrepiece and an individual work of craftsmanship.
